Hair Transplant Surgery, also known as FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant, hair restoration, and hair loss treatment, is a surgical procedure we offer at LINE Plastic Surgery Center. This procedure targets any areas of hair loss or thinning which can be caused by stress or genetics. Hair grafts from the thicker areas of hair on the back of the head will be extracted individually using the FUE technique and transplanted to the balding or thinning areas such as the M-line or crown, which will then regrow naturally. This can make you look more attractive with the appearance of a fuller head of hair. This procedure can be standalone or paired with a non-surgical treatment like Hair PRP Injection for the best results. Our doctors at LINE Plastic Surgery Center are experts in hair loss and will be able to give you the best treatment plan possible, giving you that beautiful hair you desire.
BEST CANDIDATES FOR HAIR TRANSPLANT SURGERY
– Patients who have thinning hair due to stress, aging, or genetics
– Patients with mild to moderate male pattern baldness or female pattern baldness
– Patients who have thicker hair volume towards the back of their head
– Patients who want to be able to wear hairstyles with confidence and without hiding the bald spots
– Patients who don’t want to rely on a wig or toupée and want to revitalize the volume of their natural hair
CONSULTATION
Our doctors at LINE Plastic Surgery Center will take an extensive look at the current condition of your hair and your medical history during the consultation. Together, our doctors and the patient will work to create a plan that addresses your concerns and reach your desired hair goals. Depending on the patient, a different number of hair grafts will be used. After several treatment options are discussed, you will be provided with a customized hair plan tailored to you.
SURGERY DETAILS
Hair Transplant Surgery is an outpatient surgical procedure under local anesthesia that takes several hours, depending on how many grafts are taken. Our doctors will first shave down the area where the follicles will be removed and make markings denoting the thinning areas, verifying the location and shape with you. Our doctors will use the FUE hair technique to individually harvest suitable hair follicles from the back and sides of your head with a micro-punch tool. Then, these harvested grafts will be irregularly transplanted across your new hairline and balding areas of concern, to make it appear as natural as possible.
RECOVERY & POST OPERATION
– Immediately after Hair Transplant Surgery, you may experience some swelling in the treatment areas.
– Every patient will be provided with appropriate post-op instructions on how to take care of your new hair.
– Mild pain should be tolerated with over the counter medication.
– At your first 4 day follow up appointment, we check the healing progress and will shampoo your hair for you. Do not wash your hair until then.
– Be extra careful and avoid pulling on your hair while changing.
– Small scarring can occur where the grafts have been, but these will fade over time and can be hidden under the hair.
FROM OUR DOCTORS

“FUE has become the gold standard for how hair follicles are harvested due to the essentially scarless healing to the donor site. Patients usually mention to me that they are amazed the procedure is done entirely with local anesthesia.”
– DR. HSU
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What will my Hair Transplant Surgery results be like?
After your Hair Transplant Surgery, it will take about 2-3 months for your newly transplanted follicles to take. You will notice some initial fallout before the hair starts to grow out, this is normal. Usually at least 90% of these grafts will survive. Once your hair starts re-growing, you will enjoy the benefits of a substantially fuller and thicker head of hair. You’ll be able to wear a short hair cut or any hair style with confidence. The results will last many years and will have no visual differences from the rest of your hair.
How long does Hair Transplant Surgery take?
Hair Transplant Surgery is an outpatient procedure done under local anesthesia. The procedure takes several hours and is dependent on how many grafts are harvested and implanted.
Are there any Hair Transplant Surgery risks?
Fortunately, most of the major risks of Hair Transplant Surgery are minimal when booking with a board-certified plastic surgeon at LINE Plastic Surgery. In rare cases, a larger percentage of hair grafts may fail to take. Following our post-op guidelines carefully ensures you get the best results possible.
